BRIEF HISTORY AND PROFILE OF SOUTHAMPTON MOTORCYCLE SERVICES AND BREAKERS

Southampton Motorcycle Services and Breakers was started over five years ago by Mark and Jon and was a leap of faith to turn our passions into a viable business. We both have a love for bikes going back to our earliest memories.

MARK’S PROFILE 

Mark started racing competitively at the age of seven and progressed to quad bike racing in his early twenties before giving it all up to go travelling. Settling in Hong Kong for many years before returning to the UK when China took over.

Mark follows Moto GP and BSB with a passion and has never missed a race. his knowledge of both events and the bikes they use is extensive and he has stripped and rebuilt more bikes than most people have had hot dinners! Marks’s knowledge and experience is key to our success and he continues to look for bikes and parts that he himself would use and fit his high standards based on race performance.

JON’S PROFILE 

Jon grew up on a farm in Southern Africa and rode bikes from an early age eventually exploring much of Southern Africa by bike. He has toured through much of Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Namibia, Zambia and Malawi on a variety of bikes. Jon is more into exploration and a mixture of comfort and durability preferring Enduro and Trail bikes that are easier to maintain and lend themselves to modification and "making a plan" to repair on the side of a dirt road with no spares and few tools. 

Moving back to England in 2000 bike riding and exploring became a big issue because of the weather so during the colder months tucked away in a warm garage Southampton Motorcycle Services and Breakers began to take shape. Jon’s love and dedication for motorbikes meant he was able to continue, even in the worst weather from behind shed doors. With Jon's knowledge and experience of rough terrain and endurance riding he compliments the business and balances out the skill sets we have between us.
